Course Outline

In this course you will immerse yourself in Indonesian culture and language. Along with learning the language, you will touch on cultural aspects such as religion, traditional songs, dances and food, Indonesia's geography, regional music, sports and politics, as well as several regional languages spoken in the more remote regions. Week 1 : Introduction to Bahasa. (Starting conversation, greetings, please, thank you, name, etc). Week 2 : Speaking about yourself (Name, family, work, hobbies, location, sport, etc). Week 3 : Foods (name of food, cooking). Week 4 : Music, Traditional songs, Traditional dancing. Week 5 : Geography (Islands, major cities, important locations). Week 6 : History of Indonesia/Politics/ Government. Week 7 : Traditional sports and business. Week 8: Conclusion- Basic conversation in Bahasa and develop a summary of what they have learned. About your tutor: Halo selamat datang di kelas Bahasa bersama Pak Engelo! Let me introduce myself. I'm Pak Engelo. I am from Flores island, East Nusa Tengara, Indonesia. I've been teaching Bahasa for about 6 years now, back home in Jakarta, Palembang and Bali, and now here in Darwin! I'm an easy going person, humorous and I love traveling.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
