The Adult Short Courses were previously known as Adult Night Classes at Casuarina Senior College. This program has provided a valuable service to the adult community in Darwin since 1987.  The non-accredited courses provide an opportunity for people to meet like-minded people, whilst at the same time learning new skills.

 

From April 2019, this program is being managed by the Darwin Languages Centre and all courses will be held on site at the Darwin Languages Centre, 1 Nemarluk Drive, Ludmilla unless otherwise advised in the course outline.

 

 

MINIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS

All courses need a minimum number of students to commence.  If the course you enrol in does not have enough participants, the course will be either deferred or cancelled.  Participants will be advised during the week leading up to the course start date and have the opportunity to keep their name on the list until the minimum number is achieved, or obtain a full refund of the course fees paid.

 

PARTICIPANTS

Anyone eighteen years and older may enrol. Children may not accompany adults unless they are booked for the children's classes. 

 

FEES

Fees cover tuition and in some cases materials.  For some of the courses you may have to purchase materials and these details are specified in the course outline.

 

PRIOR ENROLMENT

Enrol early.  Please do not leave your enrolment and payment until the week prior to the first course date.   You will find that either the class maximum numbers have been reached and you have missed out on the course, or there are insufficient numbers to run the class and your enrolment could have made the difference.

 

REFUNDS

Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments.   Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred.

In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term.

A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed.  Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
