Course Outline

Course outline In this creative clay class, you will get the opportunity to practice throwing clay on the wheel and create different projects using handbuilding techniques. This is a 6-week course every Wednesday evening from 6:30pm - 9:00pm (2.5 hrs). Take the next step to practicing your creative side with a highly experienced professional potter and teacher. Step by step instruction will have you throwing more specific projects so you may refine your hand. We have all the material and tools, you just need to bring your creative self! This course would be suited to those of you who have already worked with clay and beginners. What will I learn? • Learn how to throw a bowl and mug • Learn the secrets of throwing bigger pots, such as planters • Learn finishing techniques, such as making and attaching handles • Explore simple glazing techniques • Understand how kiln firing works Course fee includes glazing and firing your pieces. About your teacher: Gerald has practiced pottery for years and he sells his crafts at the Studio Elevenlee with his wife Kate in Darwin. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
