Service Description

Course Outline In this course we learn and practice traditional watercolour painting techniques using imagined landscapes as our reference. This is the School’s foundation course in watercolour and a starting point for more advanced courses. Designed as an introduction for beginners, it is also a refresher for more experienced watercolourists, who can perfect their techniques, develop new methods and select the more challenging exercises. It allows participants to devote 3 hours a week to their art in a friendly, encouraging atmosphere. The course will include tutor demonstrations; visual presentations; handouts and reference books; but mostly comprises practical student exercises, alternating with picture making using classical masterpieces of watercolour as a guide. Numbers are limited to just 8 students, so a good level of individual help and mentoring can be given. Artist’s quality watercolour materials and equipment are included in the course fee. However students may like to bring a notebook. Students who do not wish to share class materials, may bring their own. A materials list is available on request. About your Tutor: Alison Worsnop lives in the Rural Area and has taught art to adults for quite a while.
