Service Description

Course Outline Create beautiful contemporary works of art in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Watercolour works well with drawing media such as: pen and ink; graphite; charcoal and artists soft pastel and with resists such as oil pastel, crayon and wax. It can be combined with other papers for collage and with gouache for monoprinting. These mixed media are especially suitable for out door sketching, art journals, illustrations, greetings cards and small works of art. We will explore watercolour mixed media techniques suitable for different subjects and purposes. For each class, the tutor will demonstrate a different combination of media and will provide an exercise and reference material such as still life to inspire students to create their own art work. Students will be encouraged to develop their own style and work on their own projects. Student requests and preferences will be taken into account when deciding the final content and emphasis of the classes, so this outline will be subject to variation. Paper, paints, brushes and other materials are included, but students are asked to bring their own A3 visual diary for sketches and notes and an apron for when things get messy! Suitable for all levels About your Tutor: Alison Worsnop lives in the Rural Area and has taught art to adults for quite a while.
