Service Description

What is it? From Candy Crush to World of Warcraft, the video game industry is currently twice the size of both the movie AND music industry COMBINED, with no hopes of slowing down! If you have ever wanted to learn how these games are made, then this is where you can try to make one yourself. In this 6 week course we will work through the basics of how to make your first video game using a software called 'Unity'. We will use a combination of basic programming and essential game mechanics to build a game that you can give to your friends and family to play. This course does not expect you to have any prior experience in coding or video game development and is designed for the absolute beginner! We do, however, assume you are comfortable with computers and have experience playing digital games. The class will run for 2 hours per session as we learn the software 'Unity' and how to create basic shapes, have them move in a 3D space and code fundamental actions and triggers. Throughout this course we will unpack what it means to make a game, make it fun and, make it sell!
