Course Outline

This course expands on material covered in the introductory class to further your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. New material will teach you how to talk about your family and friends, describe your likes and dislikes and explain your daily activities. Grammatical themes will cover conjugation, pronoun use, adjectives and various tenses. Outcomes By the end of this course, you should be able to: • demonstrate improved speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in Greek • confidently use every day greetings and have a brief informal conversation in Greek • use adjectives to describe people and objects • use interrogative pronouns to ascertain identity, such as answering the phone in Greek • make simple comparisons about size, age and quality • make a hotel or room booking in person or using a Greek Internet booking site • make simple enquiries and request information, such as asking for directions • talk about your likes and dislikes about hobbies, sports and/or singers, actors, writers • describe your daily activities/routine • use simple past and future tense of Greek verbs • describe your wants and needs • discuss your feelings after particular events • discuss elements of Greek language, culture and civilisation such as Greek music styles, films, theatre and dance; a Greek saying/proverb. Content • Talking about family and friends • Likes and dislikes • Describing your day • Wants and needs • Making enquiries/requests • Introduction to cities, music and dance • Possessive pronouns • Intended audience Suitable for continuing participants, those who have completed Greek previous lessons or have prior knowledge to Greek. Your instructor: Anna Macarounas is a teacher with over 30 years of experience who lived and taught in Athens for 24 years. She is bilingual with a Batchelor Degree in Primary/Middle School from the Northern Territory University and has taught different age groups including Adult Migrant classes through the Greek School. Anna is passionate about the Greek language and believes that when learning a language one must understand the cultural component that comes with it. Greek people think a specific way and wants to help her students unlock that way of thinking to be able to communicate. Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
