Course outline Photography Essentials is a 3 week engaging course to introduce or refresh your understanding of the basics of using your digital camera (including DSLR, mirrorless/compact cameras) and an opportunity to learn fundamental photography techniques. Through a combination of theory sessions and practical exercises including field trips, you can apply your new knowledge, as well as gaining ongoing feedback on the photographs you produce. This course will introduce you to the parts of your camera such as; body, lens, shutter, aperture and their controls, to ensure you can use the right settings according to the context for the photography. You will gain an understanding of the fundamental principles of photography – shutter, aperture, focusing and ISO to enable you to solve your annoying photographic problems yourself; such as unfocused or over/under exposed photographs. This short course is made up of 3 individual lessons tailored to suit you, so be sure to ask plenty of questions!
