Course Outline

Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30pm Begin your journey of learning the beautiful Korean language with Sunyoung! This course is perfect for those who have little to no knowledge of Korean and Hangeul. Students will learn elementary vocabulary and basic grammar step by step. The lesson will cover the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and interactive practices through which students can start to use the language actively and develop communication skills. This course will cover: • A brief introduction of Hangeul (the Korean alphabet) • Understand the Korean writing system • Learning the Korean alphabet, phonetic value and building syllable structure • How to read and write Korean letters and words • Learning greetings and usual expressions Your instructor: Kim Sun Young was born in South Korea and is a native Korean speaker. She always had an interest in teaching and completed her teaching qualification in Korea. She has since taught adults and children both overseas and in Darwin, and also volunteered back in Korea to teach tourists the Korean language. She has been teaching adult education since 2017. She loves teaching children and adults Korean culture and tradition and believes that Korean is beautiful and great to learn as a second language while living in Darwin.
