Course Outline
This 8 week course is an observational drawing course of everyday products, and is highly technical. If you are interested in learning how to draw surface texture, light, shadow and reflective surfaces, this course will show you how. Course outline: 1. Introduction - structure of course. Views/drawing systems/first project : calculator 2. Tracing and transfer of image - laying down marker layers 3. Finishing first project with pencils 4. Development of drawings for major project (e.g hair dryer or glue gun) 5. Transfer of drawings and laying down marker layer 6. Completion of marker work with planning for detail 7. Coloured pencil work including shadows, details, highlights 8. Mounting and presentation with lettering and background ideas. Artist’s quality materials and equipment are included in the course fee. However students may like to bring a notebook and an A3 display book to keep their art work together. About your Tutor: John Hamburg has been teaching art and design for thirty years. Originally trained as a Graphic Designer/illustrator at Elizabeth TAFE before undertaking a degree in art and design teaching Uni SA Underdale. He has continually developed in areas of design and drawing having most recently taught woodwork with emphasis on design and engineering. John draws continually to develop his own skills. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
