Course Outline

Sessions 1, 2 & 3 (these processes will overlap) We will look at famous Australian lino-print makers so see what images work well in lino printing, so we can each create a small, striking image to fit a chosen size card of and envelope, experimenting with compositions and design. Your perfected design can be transferred and carved onto a lino plate. We then make our own ‘Registration board’ to ensure the paper and plates align to make a perfect series of prints each time, using acrylic paint. When the prints are dry, they can be hand coloured with washes and details of watercolour, coloured pencils or other media. Materials All materials are included in the price and your Lino plate and Registration plate are yours to take home and re-use. And of course the cards and envelopes are ready for Christmas and the New Year. Maximum eight participants Materials and equipment are included for a small edition of cards. Students may like to bring some ideas for attractive designs for their cards.
