Course Outline
In this course you will immerse yourself in Indonesian culture and language... Bahasa Indonesia for Beginners – 8-Week Course Week 1: Halo! What’s Your Name? Learn basic greetings, introductions and polite expressions through interactive conversations. Week 2: Getting to Know You Practise talking about personal information, occupations, hobbies and interests through partner activities. Week 3: Ordering at an Indonesian Warung Explore Indonesian food and drink vocabulary while practising ordering meals through restaurant role-play. Week 4: Shopping at a Traditional Market Learn numbers, prices and simple bargaining expressions through a simulated Indonesian market. Week 5: Getting Around town Practise asking for directions, identifying locations and using basic transport expressions. Week 6: Making Weekend Plans Learn how to express days, times and invitations while arranging simple outings with classmates. Week 7: Exploring Indonesian Tropical Fruits Discover tropical fruits, describe flavours and express preferences through interactive games or a tasting activity. Week 8: My First Day in Indonesia! Bring everything together through interactive scenarios that encourage students to apply their language skills in everyday situations. About Your Tutor Hello, I’m Lino, I was born and raised in Indonesia, a native Indonesian speaker with a passion for language, education and helping people learn with confidence. My teaching journey began in 2016 when I founded Hello Education in Indonesia, providing personalised tutoring to students with diverse learning needs. I have worked as an Indonesian language tutor at Sentral Intelektual Bahasa, supporting learners from immigrant backgrounds, developing their Indonesian language skills and confidence in communicating. I’m currently pursuing a Master of Teaching at Charles Darwin University (CDU), where I continue to develop my knowledge of effective and inclusive teaching practice. I believe learning a language should be enjoyable, meaningful and relevant to everyday life. Whether you’re a complete beginner, hoping to improve your conversational skills or interested in exploring Indonesian language and culture, I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to your goals and learning pace. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
