For reimagining your old objects and bric-a-brac and finding inspiration and value in the seemingly unwanted. 3 Week Series • Tuesdays • 3 Hours per Session – 17th, 24th November and 1st December. Thriftiness has never been more in vogue. Upcycle your favourite object, or choose from a selection of provided old bric-a-brac and learn the art of up-cycling pre-loved objects. For anyone wishing to learn a variety of techniques, and allow their creativity to explode, by learning together in an inspiring class, where ideas can be shared. Transform forgotten objects into stunning, one of a kind art pieces. This immersive course is designed for anyone who loves creativity, sustainability, and the thrill of turning “old” into “extraordinary. Choose from a selection of materials provided in class, or bring your own treasures waiting for a second life. Techniques You’ll Learn Each week builds your confidence and skillset with professional level methods, including: Staining — create rich, modern or vintage finishes Distressing — achieve that sought after rustic charm Ageing effects — give pieces character and depth Painting — from bold colour to subtle layering Decoupage — add pattern, texture, and artistic flair By the end of the course, you’ll walk away with beautifully finished pieces you’ll be proud to display or gift. He is an artist member of Darwin Visual Arts and the Society of Scottish Artists. He has held exhibitions in Darwin, Edinburgh, and Golden Bay in New Zealand. His work is shown in the NT, Victoria, Scotland and New Zealand. He has also worked on painting and creative projects for young people, been involved in theatre and acting, and has also been developing an upcycling ethos to pursue a more sustainable practice with his art. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
