Course Outline Looking to master CANVA and more? Its time to learn the fundamentals of graphic design! Join our Principles of Graphic Design evening course and turn your passion into expertise! Learn from an experienced artist who will show you the correct way to create eye catching graphics that are visually appealing and will get your message across. Perfect for anyone who wants to refine their skills in a short course. This course covers basic principles of graphic design, including contrast, balance, hierarchy, repetition, proximity, alignment, colour, white space, emphasis and so much more! Covering areas of "form follows function", accessibility, and producing graphics for web and print, as well as how the graphic designer works with other team members/stakeholders. You will also look at the commissioning and print/publishing processes. This course includes theoretical and practical hands on experience within industry graphic design packages/basic desk top publishing packages and open source graphic alternatives. About your tutor David is an excellent tutor with a background within the graphic design and publication worlds over the last 20 years, working within the public health sector as well as a sole trader with a variety of clients. He is an artist member of Darwin Visual Arts and the Society of Scottish Artists. He has held exhibitions in Darwin, Edinburgh, and Golden Bay in New Zealand. His work is shown in the NT, Victoria, Scotland and New Zealand. He has also worked on painting and creative projects for young people, been involved in theatre and acting, and has also been developing an upcycling ethos to pursue a more sustainable practice with his art. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
