Course Outline
The Continuers course will pick up from where last term ended. This 8-week course is suitable for students who have completed the Japanese Beginners Course or have some very basic knowledge of Japanese. In the Beginner's Course, students covered a range of useful everyday expressions and phrases for daily encounters such as self-introductions, ordering food and asking for directions as well as using mnemonic aids to remember hiragana. In this course: • use mnemonic aids to learn the second basic phonetic alphabet of katakana • learn a range of useful everyday expressions and phrases for daily encounters such as welcoming visitors to your home/etiquette when visiting others, discussing times/daily schedules and going shopping Your instructor: Kylie Cuff holds a Bachelor of Education (Japanese), Graduate Certificate of Arts in Japanese Translating and Interpreting, and Diploma of Modern Languages (Chinese Mandarin). She works as a high school Japanese teacher and SBS Japanese Radio’s NT reporter. Kylie was born in Queensland and commenced her Japanese language learning journey in upper primary school. She developed an instant passion for learning Japanese from that moment on and fell in love with linguistic elements such as the beautiful writing systems and how the language is so intricately intertwined with modern and traditional culture. Her dedication to life-long learning has seen her remain a fluent Japanese speaker for more than 25 years and with authentic in-country experiences of studying, working and travelling in Japan, she hopes to boost your motivation for learning Japanese too!

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
