Course Outline
The course takes a journey through less conventional drawing methods and media – away from strict realism and towards greater self-expression and with reference 20th Century and contemporary artists. It will include collage, reduction drawing, drawing with ink, powdered and liquid charcoal, resists, making and resolving abstract marks, portraying non-visual perceptions and looking with different perspectives. It will be enjoyable at all levels but of particular interest to those who already have experience of drawing and wish to branch out with different approaches. Artist’s quality materials and equipment are included in the course fee. However students may like to bring an A3 visual diary or an A3 display folder to keep their work and notes.
