Mosaic Mermaid Course — Create Your Own Handmade Tile Masterpiece Bring a touch of ocean magic into your home or garden with our Mosaic Mermaid Course. Join us on August 15th, 22nd, 29th, 5th and 12th September. Across these five creative sessions, you’ll design and build a stunning mermaid mosaic using your very own handmade clay tiles — each one textured, shaped, and crafted by you. All materials are included - clay, glazes, and kiln firing. What You’ll Learn You’ll explore how to: * Hand‑craft textured tiles for different sections of your mermaid * Experiment with patterns, textures, and surface effects * Have your tiles fired onsite in the Adult Short Courses kiln * Build your final artwork by mosaicking small tiles around your handmade centrepieces * Your handmade tiles become the hero of your design — the unique feature that makes your mermaid truly one‑of‑a‑kind. Who This Course Is For This course welcomes: * Beginners who want to try something creative and hands‑on * Returning mosaic makers looking to expand their skills with handmade tiles Design Support Participants receive friendly guidance throughout the design process. Bring along your ideas, sketches, or inspiration images — and templates are available if you’d like a starting point. All materials are supplied. Just bring your imagination! About your teacher Janie Andrews is a painter, textile and mosaic artist with over 30 years of experience of running her own company to create one off special artworks through commissions, residencies and for exhibitions. Janie enjoys sharing her skills through workshops with people from many walks of life and spends a lot of time as a Visiting Artist to facilitate and create special artworks with artists and communities both remote and urban. Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. Joining a course after it has started is at the discretion of administration and the course tutor therefore full course costs may still be incurred. In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
