Course Outline

Intuitive Abstract Painting 4 weeks - Mondays from 6pm to 9pm. Over 4 weeks in August Maree will guide you on a fun journey to rediscover your creative freedom. You will: ▪ Demystify how and when to use paint mediums ▪ Create meaningful, bold, fresh paintings with acrylic paints and other media ▪ Discover and use mixed media such as collage, found objects and ephemera ▪ Uncover your personal style through fun exercises ▪ Loosen up and find new inspiration About the Tutor: Maree Mack is a gifted and much‑loved artist whose creative energy has inspired students for many years. Although she is based in Western Australia, Darwin is incredibly fortunate to welcome her back for another round of workshops. DASC is genuinely grateful to have access to her depth of skill, artistic insight, and generous teaching style. Maree has long been known for her vibrant pottery and painting classes, and now she is returning to DASC to offer a fantastic short course in Intuitive Abstract Painting. This is a rare chance to immerse yourself in her creative process, tap into your own artistic instincts, and learn from her extensive experience. Her teaching journey has included time with Tactile Arts as well as previous Adult Short Courses, where her sessions have always been met with enthusiasm. Some materials are supplied for this course but students are encouraged to bring in their own favourite brushes and colours of acrylic paint.
