T3 2026 Horses-Draw & Paint Watercolour

Course Outline

Join Alison Worsnop to draw and paint horses in watercolour, enjoying the beauty of these magnificent creatures in art. Participants will make a journey through the centuries, looking at and being inspired by horses. We will use projected media, books, printed handouts and tutor demonstrations – to create our own drawings and watercolours horses. In one session (at the weekend) participants will sketch en plein air some local horses from life. The five evening studio sessions will include horse history, anatomy, horses in motion, ancient and contemporary horse art and will culminate in participants executing their own project: perhaps a horse portrait, a larger piece with several horses or even a cartoon strip. All materials are included, except participants are asked to bring their own A3 sketch book or visual diary and something to sit on, such as a camping chair to use for the out-door session. About the Tutor: Alison Worsnop lives in the Rural Area and has taught art to adults for quite a while.
