Course Outline

DRAW ANIMALS Starts Tuesday evening 14 July 2026 8 weekly sessions: Dates: 14, 21,28 July, 4 & 11, 18, 25 August & 1 September Using a variety of media – pencils, pen and ink, charcoal, pastel and watercolour - join Alison Worsnop to draw all kinds of animals including dogs, cats, horses and native wildlife and smaller creatures. Participants will make a journey from prehistoric cave paintings to animal portraiture including animals’ anatomy, movement and habitats. We will use projected media, books, printed handouts and tutor demonstrations – to understand and appreciate our animal subjects and create our own drawings and watercolours. Participants may undertake their own project: perhaps a pet portrait or a larger piece with several wild animals in their natural environment. All materials are included, but participants may wish to bring their own A3 sketch book or visual diary and an A3 display folder to keep their work together.
