Course Outline
Begin your journey of learning the beautiful Korean language with Sunyoung! This course is perfect for those who have little to no knowledge of Korean and Hangeul. Korean for Travellers is a beginner-level course that helps you get around Korea with confidence. You’ll start by learning Hangul, the Korean alphabet, so you can read signs and menus. You’ll learn essential Korean phrases, expressions, and cultural tips to help you navigate transportation, dining, shopping, and everyday interactions with basic grammar knowledge. What You’ll Learn: • Basic Korean greetings and polite expressions • How to introduce yourself and answer simple questions • Ordering food and drinks at restaurants and cafés • Navigating public transportation and asking for directions • Shopping vocabulary and numbers • Cultural tips for interacting with locals Your instructor: Kim Sun Young was born in South Korea and is a native Korean speaker. She always had an interest in teaching and completed her teaching qualification in Korea. She has since taught adults and children both overseas and in Darwin, and also volunteered back in Korea to teach tourists the Korean language. She has been teaching adult education since 2017. She loves teaching children and adults Korean culture and tradition and believes that Korean is beautiful and great to learn as a second language while living in Darwin. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. Joining a course after it has started is at the discretion of administration and the course tutor therefore full course costs may still be incurred. In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
