Course Outline

Expressive Drawing 8 weeks Starts Tuesday 22nd July. The course takes a journey through less conventional drawing methods and media. It will move away from strict realism and towards self-expression, imagination and experimentation with different techniques and media: drawing with a difference. We will be inspired by contemporary and historic artists. This course will be enjoyable at all levels of drawing experience, including beginners, but will be of particular interest to those who would like their art to take a new direction and branch out with different approaches. Techniques will include collage, monoprinting and reduction drawing in various drawing media including ink and gouache – but the course will remain flexible and responsive to what participants would like to do. Artist’s quality materials and equipment are included in the course fee. It may get messy, so bring an apron!
