Course Outline

Scrap Savvy: Mastering Scrap Patchwork Saturdays are made for scrapping...Join our tutor Oceana and let her show you how to transform all those little pieces of fabric scraps laying around your sewing space into stunning patchwork projects! Scrap Savvy is all about fun projects you can do to use up the scraps and make beautiful things at the same time. Learn how to organise and work with small scraps, colour grade, sew scrap panels and then use those panels in projects from coasters to quilts to create truly one-of-a-kind pieces! Course overview: Week 1 - Transforming Scraps into Squares Week 2 - Stabilising Scrap Panels Week 3 - Improv Crumb Quilting Week 4 - Exploring Scrap Quilt Blocks Bring your own stash of scraps to the class and give them new life and meaning!! Your Tutor: "I’m Oceana, scrap hoarder and late-night sewist. I began my machine sewing journey in 2020 during Covid lockdown in Melbourne, but come from a background in multi-media textile arts beginning during my high school years. Since diving into machine sewing, I have always been drawn to utilising scrap fabrics, primarily because of the visual interest they can add, but also because I get such joy out of using every small piece. Collecting fabrics from all over, I have built a scrap collection that allows me the freedom to really get the most out of my scrap sewing. Making improv scrap panels as a form of post-work relaxation, I have made numerous scrap quilts, pillowcases, bags, pencil pencil cases, baby bibs, and many most. I am excited to share my passion and method with those who chose to try out my course!" For a seniors discount of 10% use coupon code SENIOR at checkout - ID will be checked at class register.
