Course Outline

In this afternoon course you will be introduced to the artform and method of Zentangle ®. No prior drawing experience is necessary. If you can write the letters C, S, I and O, you can draw! Zentangle® is an easy, relaxing, fun way to create beautiful images using structured, guided patterns in a non-representative way. Learning to draw “One Stroke at a Time” is the philosophy of mindful drawing to develop a practice in a deliberate manner to get into a state of creative flow. Each week we work on a cotton “tile” learning simple, yet effective drawing techniques to have fun, relax, connect with others to learn. Your Certified Zentangle Teacher® will introduce some basic shading, colouring and highlighting techniques. Each student will be given handouts, reference books to view, samples and best of all, learn by creating. Numbers are limited to 12 using the highest quality tools and supplies which are provided. About the Tutor – Veronica Hodges has been creating and teaching art to adults in the Darwin and rural area for over 13 years whilst exhibiting artworks individually and in group exhibitions. Veronica has been on the Committee of Art Educators of the Northern Territory for 7 years.
