Course Outline

Watercolour Landscapes - Traditional Watercolour Painting. In this course we explore traditional watercolour painting using the landscape and masterpieces in watercolour as our reference. We will practise essential watercolour techniques and learn from great European and Australian watercolourists. It is designed as an introduction for beginners; but will also be enjoyable for more experienced watercolourists with new exercises for those who have taken this course before. It allows participants to devote 3 hours a week to their art in a friendly, encouraging atmosphere. The course will include tutor demonstrations; visual presentations; reference books; and exercises in a wide range of watercolour techniques- alternating with picture making and the opportunity for students to work on their own project. Artist’s quality watercolour materials and equipment are included in the course fee. However students may like to bring a notebook and an A3 display book to keep their art work together.
