Course outline 6‑Week Pottery Course with Pari! In this creative clay class, you will get the opportunity to practice throwing clay on the wheel and create different projects using hand building techniques. This is a 6-week course every Tuesday evening from 6:00pm to 8.00pm (2 hrs). Step by step instruction will have you throwing more projects so you may refine your hand. We have all the material and tools, you just need to bring your creative self! Discover the joy of working with clay in this hands‑on 6‑week pottery course led by our new tutor, Pari. Perfect for beginners and those wanting to build confidence, this course guides you through essential pottery skills from your very first touch of clay to your beautifully finished pieces. Across six creative weeks, you’ll explore: Week 1: Introduction to clay — getting comfortable with materials, tools, and basic techniques Week 2: Centre-ing clay on the wheel — learning the foundation of all wheel‑thrown forms Week 3: Hand‑building — creating forms using slab and coil techniques Week 4: Wheel throwing — shaping cups and other simple vessels Week 5: Trimming and surface decoration — refining your pieces and adding personal flair Week 6: Glazing and finishing — completing your work and reviewing your progress By the end of the course, you’ll have a collection of your own handmade pieces and a solid grounding in both wheel‑throwing and hand‑building. About your teacher: Pari is an experienced pottery tutor who is skilled in wheel throwing and hand building techniques. She has taught beginners, children and adults, providing step-by-step guidance in a safe and creative environment. She has been a pottery arts teacher in cultural centres and art schools.
