Course Outline

Public Speaking using Theatrical and Comedy Techniques! This fun engaging course will give students a chance to use script work. You'll also learn that performing comedy can be a lot of fun! You will gain confidence for that next event where you need to speak in front of panel or guests. Learn what keeps public speakers calm and focused. What is a good speech and what to avoid. Course details: 5 week course beginning Thursday 14th May from 6.00pm - 9.00pm Build your confidence in public speaking with: - Warm-ups and game playing exercises; - Role models to enhance development; - Vocal exercises and script work; - Improvisation and comedy delivery. About your tutor David is an excellent tutor with a background within the graphic design and publication worlds over the last 20 years, working within the public health sector as well as a sole trader with a variety of clients. He is an artist member of Darwin Visual Arts and the Society of Scottish Artists. He has held exhibitions in Darwin, Edinburgh, and Golden Bay in New Zealand. His work is shown in the NT, Victoria, Scotland and New Zealand. He has also worked on painting and creative projects for young people, been involved in theatre and acting, and has also been developing an upcycling ethos to pursue a more sustainable practice with his art. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
