Course Outline

This course offers a clear and friendly introduction to the Korean language, giving beginners the essential tools to start communicating with confidence. You’ll learn the foundations of Hangeul, understand how the Korean writing system works, and begin reading and writing simple Korean words and expressions. Through practical activities and everyday phrases, you’ll start developing your listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, building a strong base for future Korean study. Lessons will cover: • Ordering various foods using unit nouns • Learning basic verbs and names of places • Learning object particle and informal polite style ending • Expressing what people do • Expressing where people go • Describing the present state or characteristic of a noun • Expressing negatives • Buying things Details 8 week schedule Tuesdays 6:30pm - 8:30pm Your instructor: Kim Sun Young was born in South Korea and is a native Korean speaker. She always had an interest in teaching and completed her teaching qualification in Korea. She has since taught adults and children both overseas and in Darwin, and also volunteered back in Korea to teach tourists the Korean language. She has been teaching adult education since 2017. She loves teaching children and adults Korean culture and tradition and believes that Korean is beautiful and great to learn as a second language while living in Darwin. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
