Course Outline
Introduction to Pastels 4 weeks Starts Thursday 29th May 5.30pm to 8.30pm Artist’s soft pastels are a fast, direct and easy-to-use medium which can be used to draw and paint in vibrant colours and with creative self-expression. Soft pastels are a perfect starting point for your art journey. In this evening course of 4 weekly 3 hour sessions, we will explore and discover what pastels can do. Using still life, flowers and landscapes as our reference and inspiration, we will investigate a range of techniques from the traditional to the experimental. Sessions will include tutor demonstrations, reference images, slide shows, practical drawing exercises and picture-making. Come and spend some quiet time relaxing and creating with pastels. Artist’s soft pastels and other materials are included in the course fee. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
