Course Outline Introduction to Digital Modelling, 3D Printing, and Laser Cutting This comprehensive course introduces adults to the exciting possibilities of digital design and fabrication. Participants will gain hands-on experience with CAD software, laser cutting, 3D modelling, and 3D printing, as well as explore creative applications in kinetic art and techno-art. The program combines technical skill-building with opportunities for creative prototyping and artistic expression. Course Objectives: • Develop foundational skills in CAD design using industry-standard software. • Learn the basics of laser cutting and 3D printing through practical, hands-on sessions. • Explore the integration of AI tools for digital modelling and design. • Apply digital fabrication techniques to create innovative projects in art and design. Course Schedule: Week 1: Introduction to CAD Design Week 2: Laser Cutting Basics Week 3: Basics of 3D Modelling Week 4: 3D Printing Essentials Week 5: Creative Prototyping and Project Activities Week 6: Kinetic Art and Modern Techno-Art Practices Key Features of the Program: • Duration: 6 sessions (2 hours each). • Mode: Hands-on, interactive workshops. • Resources Provided: Access to design software, Emblaser 2 laser cutter, Flashforge 3D printers, and materials. • Target Audience: Adults with basic computer skills interested in exploring digital design, fabrication, and artistic expression. By the end of this course, participants will have a well-rounded understanding of digital modelling, laser cutting, and 3D printing, along with the ability to create functional and artistic projects that blend technology and creativity. Recommendations: Students are encouraged to bring a USB/memory stick for storing tutorial videos, presentations, 3D models, slicing files, and other data. Windows desktops equipped with 3D design software and three 3D printers with basic filaments will be available in the classroom. Students may also bring their own devices (laptops) and additional/special filament for modelling and printing practice. About your tutor Sergei is an experienced ICT professional, STEM/STEAM educator, business analyst, and project manager, specializing in modern computer aids for teaching and learning, creative digital suites, and high-tech innovations in both school and vocational education sectors. With over 15 years of expertise, Sergei has successfully designed, implemented, and developed programs with DET and Training NT.

Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
