T1 2026 Birds-Draw & Paint Watercolours
Birds - Draw and Paint in Watercolour, every Tuesday 6.00pm to 9.00pm

Course Outline
In this course, we will look at birds from the perspective of the artist, scientist and wild bird lover, starting with the anatomy and ending with how we can make a finished drawing or watercolour, including the bird’s natural habitat, from our own photographs and observations. We will use various references including masterpieces by Edward Lear, Lars Jonsson and others, starting with pencil and ink drawings which may be finished with watercolour. The course will include tutor demonstrations; visual presentations; handouts and reference books; practical student exercises and picture making sometimes using masterpieces as a guide. It is aimed at participants who have some drawing experience, but beginners are welcomed. The only requirement is a love of birds. Numbers are limited to just 8 students, so a good level of individual help and mentoring can be given. Artist’s quality watercolour materials and equipment are included in the course fee. However students may like to bring an A3 or A4 visual diary . About the Tutor: Alison Worsnop lives in the Rural Area and has taught art to adults for quite a while. She exhibits her art work regularly and can be contacted through her website www.alisonworsnop.com or telephone her on 0417 881 854 if you would like to talk to her about the course.
