Enjoy learning a variety of sewing techniques with Sandra in a fun and friendly atmosphere. 8 weeks commencing on 22nd July 3 hrs every Thursday evening from 5.30pm – 8.30pm Course Outline This is mainly a structured Course for those who have completed a Beginners Course (and those who have limited knowledge of sewing techniques) who wish to further their knowledge by learning and making samples of various sewing techniques, as listed below. The course will also allow the flexibility to learn other techniques as requested by the students. Time permitting, some of these techniques can be incorporated into a simple garment of your choice. Learning Outcomes - Gathers - Elastic Casing - Top Stitching, Under Stitching and Ditch Stitching - Buttonholes/Buttons - Sleeves - Collar - Hooks/Loops - Seams. Princess, French, Overlaid - Facing Armhole and Neck - Binding Armhole and Neck - Hand Sewing - Rouleau Loops/Covered Buttons - Pockets - Skirt /Yoke/Facing - Hems. Machine and hand sewn. - Fit and alter using Calico - Other Techniques as requested ( Time permitting ) - Sewing with tissue ( Chiffon and fine fabrics ) - Basic stretch sewing It is not necessary for you to bring anything on the first night. Calico fabric, thread and all other items required to make your samples will be provided. Your Tutor Sandra has many years of experience and has successfully tutored Night Classes for the past twenty years. She currently tutors the ‘Garment Making ‘ course on Tuesday evenings and is passionate about sharing her vast amount of knowledge and experience. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
