Service Description

Photography Essentials Photography Essentials is a 3 week engaging course to introduce or refresh your understanding of the basics of using your DSLR camera and fundamental photography techniques. Through a combination of theory sessions and practical exercises including field trips, you can apply your new knowledge, as well as gaining ongoing feedback on the photographs you produce. This course will introduce you to the parts of your camera: body, lens, shutter, aperture and their controls to ensure you can use the right settings according to the context for the photography. You will gain an understanding of the fundamental principles of photography – shutter, aperture, focussing and ISO to enable you to solve your annoying photographic problems yourself; such as unfocussed or over/under exposed photographs. This short course is made up for individual lessons tailored to suit you, so be sure to ask plenty of questions! About your tutor Chris Knight is a highly experienced professional photographer. Chris has taught photography, and Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom since the early 1990s. Chris also runs a successful photographic company in Darwin.

Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
