Course Outline
Join Alison to design and create beautiful and unique Christmas New Year cards which your relatives and friends will keep and treasure. You will carve your own lino printing plate and print your design onto artists quality paper then hand colour each one with watercolour. We will look at designs that do and don’t work well with lino prints, mindful of the need to fit into readily available envelopes. Your chosen design can be transferred to a lino and cut using a range of tools. It can be tried out by printing a proof and modified before printing onto quality watercolour paper. When completely dry, you may hand-colour the print with watercolour washes and other media. Max eight participants Materials and equipment are included for a small edition of cards. Students are requested to bring some ideas for simple designs for their cards. Either small objects such as shells or flowers, or drawings or photographs. Session 1: We will look at what works well in lino printing and create a small, striking design(s) to fit your chosen size card of and envelope. Your perfected design can be transferred and carved it onto a lino plate. You may then print one or more proofs to check and improved the design. We will then select and cut the paper for your cards and make a series of prints. Session 2: When the prints are dry, they can be hand colour them with washes and details of watercolour and other media.

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
