Course Outline

Looking for a fun and creative way for your child to explore ceramics? Look no further than DASC's pottery wheel throwing course! Led by our dedicated and experienced pottery tutor, Gerald, this three-session mini course is for children ages 12 and up. With a small class size of only 8 students, your child will receive personalized attention and guidance as they learn the basics of using a potter's wheel and "throwing" clay! Join us for a new creative adventure that your child will love. All materials supplied, so students only need to come along with an open mind and creative spirit! IMPORTANT: Please send your child to DASC with closed in shoes, hair tied back, a water bottle, clothing they can get clay on/an apron, and a snack for breaktime. What will I learn? • Familiarise yourself with the joys of working with clay • Learn how to use the potters wheel • Create your own pottery to take home • Decorating techniques Session 1 - Learn how to use the wheel and form basic shapes Session 2 - Finish off what was made on the wheel and make simple hand built items Session 3 - Decorate, apply glaze and make their creations ready for firing in the kiln. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
