Course Outline

Mindful art workshops for children: Mindful Zentangles for Kids (Ages 6–13) In this 3‑hour art workshop, children will discover the calming world of Zentangle drawing – a fun way of creating art by repeating simple lines and shapes that grow into beautiful, complex patterns. Through gentle guidance, kids will: Learn Zentangle basics: repeated patterns like spirals, dots, and grids. Practice mindfulness: slow, steady drawing that helps them relax and focus. Boost creativity and confidence: turning “mistakes” into part of the design. Create their own finished artwork: adding colour, shading, and personal flair. Zentangle is all about calmness, repetition, and imagination. There’s no “wrong way” to do it—just a joyful, mindful process that helps kids build focus, fine motor skills, and creative problem‑solving while having fun. Students will practice basic Tangles, which includes lines, checkerboards, circles and dots, zig-zags, tiles or grids, all of which help your child to focus. They will then go on to make a Main Artwork which they will fill with Tangles of their own imagination. All materials are supplied. About your Tutor Tamara is a local artist but also has teaching experience.
