Course Outline

Mindful Art with Watercolour & Ink Ages: 6–13 Duration: 3 hours Slow down, breathe, and let colours guide your creativity. In this calming art workshop, children will explore the gentle flow of watercolour and the meditative rhythm of line drawing to create their own abstract masterpiece. 🌈 What kids will experience: Mindful breathing with colour: Inhale a colour, exhale another, and notice the colours around you. Discovering mindful art: Learn that mindful art is about slowing down, noticing, and letting materials lead the way. Exploring abstract art: See how shapes and patterns don’t need to look like anything recognisable. Watercolour play: Create soft washes, blooms, and flowing shapes using just a few calming colours. Mindful line drawing: Add ink details—patterns, contours, or plant-inspired lines—once the paint has dried. Finishing touches: Highlight with colour bursts or metallic pens, stopping when the artwork feels complete. Sharing circle: Reflect together on what felt relaxing and joyful during the creative process. ✨ Key outcomes: Build focus and patience through slow, steady art-making. Gain confidence in creative expression without rules or “right answers.” Experience mindfulness in a playful, age-appropriate way. Take home a unique watercolour and ink artwork that reflects calm and imagination. About your Tutor Tamara is a local artist but also has teaching experience.
