Course Outline

Expressionism art workshops for children: Series of 4 x 3hr workshops which could be booked individually or as a series of all 4 Tuesday 6th, Wednesday 7th, Friday 9th and Saturday 10th January 2026 Age group: 6 to 13 years Workshops could be booked individually or as a series of all 4. Workshop series will include: 1. The Scream 2. Eco art 3. Self portraits in the style of famous artists 4. Fabric collage Kids Art Workshop - The workshop is playful, creative, and welcoming to all skill levels. Ideal for children aged 6 upwards. Explore how artists use texture and materials to tell stories. Workshop Objectives * Introduction and inspiration - introduce Jeannie Baker's work. Read and show pages from one or two of her picture books discussing how she uses texture and layering to tell stories visually. Discuss how art can capture a places that's special - like home, a beach, a holiday, or a park. *Planning the Scene - Students sketch their ideas of a special place. Talk about how different fabrics can represent elements like water, trees, sky or tents. *Creating the Fabric Collage - Students select and cut fabrics to match their plan. Learn techniques such as overlapping, layering, fraying, tearing. Materials Provided • Art supplies, pencils, paints, brushes, • String, masking tape, staplers, scissors, glue sticks About your Tutor Tamara is a local artist but also has teaching experience. She has 25+ years teaching all levels from kindergarten to university, including art teaching, special education and English as an additional language. Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. Joining a course after it has started is at the discretion of administration and the course tutor therefore full course costs may still be incurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
