Service Description

Stand-up comedy is an art form that's been around for centuries. But if you've ever wanted to try it yourself, where do you start? In this course, Nicole will teach you the basics of writing and performing stand-up comedy in just 5 weeks, and at the end, you'll have a performance to show off your new skills! This new and exciting course includes the basics of creating your first 5-minute stand-up comedy routine, including: - Turning stories into stand-up; - Setup & punchline; - Discovering your comedy voice; - Activities for generating material; and - Microphone & stage technique! Students will perform their routines developed throughout the course at a venue in Darwin (TBD) to a live audience, MC'd by Nicole Stevens, your course tutor, and featuring a more experienced Darwin comedian. About your tutor: Nicole Stevens is a Darwin-based, award-winning comedian with an element of sass. Ridiculous, engaging and insightful, she finds the 'silly' in everyday things while making fun of her own shortcomings. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
