Service Description

Greek is the worlds oldest recorded living language and is steeped with history and culture. Greece is a top holiday destination and we all know why, beautiful quaint towns all in white and blue next to marbled beaches and the Mediterranean sea. So why not brush up on your Greek and converse with the cheerful locals on your seaside holiday. This Greek language class focuses on the four main areas of foreign language study: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The primary purpose of the course is to introduce students to the cultural influences of the language and the history. Students in this course will learn Greek basic vocabulary, speak words, phrases, and sentences in Greek with the proper pronunciation and intonation. You will use appropriate formal and informal words and phrases in various social situations and write grammatically correct sentences, reading elementary texts written in Greek. This course is perfect for absolute beginners to the language and also for those who intend travelling to Greece. This is a 10 week course every Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:30 PM. Your Tutor: Agnes has been a Greek language teacher for many years, she moved to Australia after she finished her studies in the Greek languages in Cyprus - Latin and ancient Greek. Agnes started working in the educational department in Darwin with both primary and high schools. Agnes has worked with the Darwin Languages Centre for many years as well as the Darwin Greek school.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
