Drawing: Back to Basics - 4 Weeks

Service Description

Course Outline 4 sessions: 3 Tuesday evenings and 1 Saturday morning. Using graphite pencils and charcoal on paper we will explore line, mark making, tone, space, texture and basic shapes and how to analyse and complex forms and basic measuring. Classes will involve observing and drawing small objects from life (not photographs) and creating the illusion of form and space, using classical Western perspective, supported by slide shows and tutor demonstrations. Our final session will be outside, drawing trees and buildings in the Botanic Gardens. Materials and written handouts are included in the fee but participants may like to bring their own A3 visual diary. This is a small friendly group (maximum 8 students) and the course is suitable for both beginners and anyone wishing to go back to the basics of drawing. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
