Course Outline Embark on an exciting journey into the world of technological innovation with our comprehensive 3D Modelling and 3D Printing workshop, designed by expert Sergei. This hands-on course offers a fast-track introduction to 3D printing, a cutting-edge rapid manufacturing technology embraced by a wide range of industries, businesses, educators, craftsmen, DIY enthusiasts, and contemporary artists experimenting with recycled and biodegradable plastics. 3D printing is in high demand for creating sophisticated and high-quality crafts and industrial prototypes. Regardless of your professional background, this beginner-friendly course opens up a world of creative possibilities, where digital 3D modelling merges with 3D printing technology to ignite your imagination and hone your design skills. Explore potential roles as a 3D modeler, digital sculptor, additive technologist, or business prototyper, while crafting impressive 3D prints for personal or professional use. Key Learning Objectives: • Understand the trends in additive technology • Learn the basics of operating and servicing 3D printers • Master the essentials of 3D modelling for 3D printing • Utilize PLA and ABS plastic techniques • Discover best practices for slicing and printing intricate 3D objects • Access and work with public 3D print libraries Upon completion, you will be well-versed in FlashForge 3D printers, 3D design software (TinkerCAD, Fusion 360, ZBrush), creating 3D printing projects, mastering slicing software, operating 3D printers, basic servicing and troubleshooting, and post-printing processing of 3D prints. This course will also help you make an informed decision if you're considering purchasing a 3D printer. Course Schedule: Week 1: Introduction to 3D Printing Technology Week 2: 3D Modelling in TinkerCAD Week 3: Slicing 3D Models and Operating a 3D Printer Week 4: 3D Design in Fusion 360 Week 5: Slicing and Printing Complex 3D Objects Week 6: Digital Sculpting in ZBrush Week 7: 3D Modelling with Coding Week 8: 3D Printer Maintenance and Service Recommendations: Students are encouraged to bring a USB/memory stick for storing tutorial videos, presentations, 3D models, slicing files, and other data. Windows desktops equipped with 3D design software and three 3D printers with basic filaments will be available in the classroom. Students may also bring their own devices (laptops) and additional/special filament for modelling and printing practice.

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Please choose carefully as course fees will not be refunded to participants who are unable to attend the course due to changes in personal circumstances or work commitments. Course fees will not be refunded once confirmation and/or commencement of the course has occurred. ​In the event of a serious illness, you may request to transfer to the following term. A full refund of course fees will be paid if the advertised course does not proceed. Participants will be advised if a class does not have the minimum number of students to commence.
